Conoscerai i fondamenti del linguaggio cinematografico, le varie fasi della produzione e il funzionamento di un set. Durante le lezioni ci saranno delle sessioni di visione e analisi di sequenze di film. Inoltre svolgerai esercizi di scrittura e di regia.
A PhD-qualified musician, composer, arranger and music producer with 30 years of professional experience as author of original music for films, documentaries and audiovisual art projects. Extensive hands-on experience with the entire process of music and sound production for film, having worked as director of sound post-production, sound designer, location sound recordist for high-level productions with directors including Nina de Maio, Mario Martone and Paolo Sorrentino. His work was nominated for the Nastri D’Argento for the best sound (La-bàs, directed by Guido Lombardi, 2012), was twice awarded the National Quality Prize for the soundtrack by the Italian Ministry of Culture (Autunno and Inverno, directed by Nina di Maio, 1999 and 2002), and was featured at international film festivals including the Berlinale, the Mostra Internazionale del Cinema di Venezia, and the Torino International Film Festival. As a sax player and electronic musician and composer, he performed at the Venice Biennale, RomaEuropa Festival, SonarSound, Santarcangelo dei Teatri, Sintesi and Interferenze. Complete professional technical mastery of the film sound production workflow in a variety of settings and media, ranging from 35mm film to 6k digital format. He has designed and supervised the realization of three professional sound recording studios. For the last 25 years he has been a full-time humanities teacher in Italian high schools (licei), teaching Italian literature, history and philosophy to about 2,500 students including students in the last year before university. Proven track record of mobilizing his extensive professional network in the film industry to provide learning and creative opportunities for students, most recently by leading a team of 10 students to produce an open-air audio-visual installation (Double-Desk Tribute project, co-financed by the American Embassy in Rome and awarded the Global Junior Challenge 2021).
